Overall objectivies

The overall objective of SWRO is to enhance the capacity of target communities to address their own economic, social, and environmental challenges, leading to sustainable community development.

Specific objectivies

  1. Awareness and Human Rights:

Educate marginalized and underprivileged groups about their basic human rights and mobilize communities to collectively work towards their realization.

  1. Institutional Development:

Support the creation and strengthening of local-level institutions, enabling them to undertake community-based welfare and development initiatives.

  1. Legal Assistance:

Provide quality legal support to women, children, and juvenile victims of abuse, exploitation, and trafficking especially those in conflict with the law or living in vulnerable conditions.

  1. Youth Engagement:

Offer safe spaces and constructive opportunities for youth to learn, relax, and participate in social and educational activities that promote leadership and civic responsibility.

  1. Gender Equality:

Promote gender equality and empower women to play an active role in social, economic, and political spheres.

  1. Education and Health for Women and Children:

Facilitate women’s and children’s access to education, health services, and skills development opportunities to enhance their wellbeing and income-generating capacity.

  1. Community Participation:

Ensure full participation of grassroots organizations in decision-making processes, including problem identification, planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation, to foster ownership and sustainability.

  1. Economic Empowerment:

Facilitate access to microcredit, promote group savings, and support small enterprise development to strengthen household income and resilience.

  1. Environmental Protection:

Promote environmental conservation, pollution control, water supply, and sanitation initiatives to create healthier living conditions.

  1. Drug Abuse Prevention:

Conduct awareness and rehabilitation programs to prevent and combat drug abuse within the community.

  1. Resource and Information Centre:

Establish a community resource center to provide information, education, and communication support for local institutions and individuals.

  1. Disaster Risk Reduction:

Strengthen community capacity for disaster preparedness, prediction, and mitigation through relief, rehabilitation, and resilience-building initiatives.

  1. Networking and Partnerships:

Develop effective linkages with government bodies, NGOs, and development partners to promote collaboration, learning, and advocacy for community development.
