About us
We empower women, youth, and vulnerable communities.
Social Women and Resilience Organization (SWRO) is a non-profit, non-political, and community-driven organization established in 2020 to empower women, youth, and vulnerable communities across Somalia.
Headquartered in Kismayo with sub-offices in Baidoa and Mogadishu, SWRO promotes gender equality, resilience, and sustainable development through community-based programs.
We work with IDPs, returnees, and host communities to improve livelihoods, expand access to education and health, strengthen protection services, and build long-term community resilience.
Our commitment is rooted in partnership, participation, and empowerment—ensuring that communities lead the change they want to see.
Our Goal
The goal of the Social Women and Resilience Organization (SWRO) is to improve the living standards of vulnerable communities especially women and children through community mobilization, capacity building, advocacy, and institutional strengthening at the grassroots level.
Our Strategy

This approach identifies core issues through full community participation while mobilizing local and indigenous resources. The organization collaborates closely with donor agencies, philanthropists, and community members to realize its mission and ensure lasting positive change.
